Preparation

  • Cook the rice according to the package instructions. Add the cauliflower in the last 3 minutes. After cooking and steaming, mix the rice with rice vinegar, sugar, and salt. Let it cool down briefly.
  • Cut the salmon fillet into cubes and do the same with the avocados. Then mix the salmon and avocado cubes together and stir in two tablespoons of soy sauce. Mix the rest of the soy sauce in a small bowl with the chili flakes.
  • Place a piece of plastic wrap in front of you and put a hefty tablespoon of rice on it. Flatten with wet hands. Distribute some cubes of salmon and avocado over it, and spoon another tablespoon of rice on top. Fold the plastic wrap over it and twist it closed so you form a ball of rice.
  • Repeat this until all the rice and filling are used up.
  • Put the balls in the refrigerator for an hour to get cold, making them easier to fry later.
  • Heat oil in a frying pan and fry the sushi balls on all sides. Carefully turn them over, as they can easily fall apart.
  • Before serving, mix the mayonnaise with the sriracha and spread the spicy mayo over the sushi balls. Garnish with sesame seeds.
  • Serve the sushi balls with the spicy soy sauce.
  • Enjoy your sushi balls with cauliflower rice!
