Hey thanks for meeting us at the Perth Royal Show! Here are some handy tips to help you sow and grow your baby spinach seeds.

1. Find a warm sunny spot in your garden. Put on a pair of gloves.

2. Prepare the soil by adding some compost to make a seed bed and make small rows 1cm deep and 5cm apart.

3. Sprinkle the seeds along the rows, cover lightly with soil and gently water using a fine headed sprinkler (no big or heavy drops).

Your baby spinach will be ready in 4-8 weeks. Harvest as small leaves or let them grow into bigger bunches.

Enjoy growing your veggies. Spinach is delicious with any meal. We'd love to see your results! Get your mum or dad to tweet a photo of your spinach garden or your salad to us @lovemysalad

Before eating, rinse the leaves under cold water and pat dry. Spinach is yummy and most nutritious simply served raw in a salad seasoned with a little olive oil and lemon juice. You can stir-fry spinach with other vegetables, adding spinach right at the end of the cooking process so it stays bright green (be careful not to overcook the spinach as it will shrink!)

Spinach is best eaten within a couple of days after harvest, store spinach in the crisper section of the fridge in a plastic bag.
