You're not going to find any medicine in the pharmacy that has as many benefits for our health like the properties of tomatoes. Who would have thought that in a supermarket could buy such a "drug" ?
The tomato Solanum lycopersicum is one of the "fruits" that 's used in our kitchen, in all its forms and varieties . The Spanish colonalists brought tomates to Europe from the very heart of the Aztec empire. And today is one of the foundations of our cuisine: tomato salads, tomato sauce, cooked in stews and soups, crushed into gazpacho, in jam ... or the ever popular all over the world: ketchup.
The properties of tomatoes are many and all of them are very beneficial for our health (reduces cholesterol, fights infection, reduces uric acid, strengthens the immune system, prevents cardiovascular disease, regulates bowel movement, helps eliminate toxins from the body due to its diuretic effect, helps the healing of some wounds, controls blood pressure and one of the most important, mad help to reduce the appearance of up to 9 different types of cancers.
A study by the University of North Carolina shows that people who eat tomatoes regularly halve the risk of heart attack compared to people who do not.
