Play with your senses and have fun

Since my daughter Gaia seemed to like all the new vegetables in her diet, after a few months I also started to add small vegetable pieces in to her food. As my daughter reached 12 months old and was eating 2 course meals I gave her small vegetable cubes as a side dish. I am talking about boiled vegetables cut into pieces with or without dressing that my daughter could easily pick up and feed to herself. Although it can become very messy it is good for the child to feel the different consistency of food.

You could also garnish the plate with something funny that children will like so that they associate meal times and vegetables as something nice and will be happy to eat up everything. For example try making a face or flower out of vegetables and arrange them on the plate or try a boiled potato "sun" with its rays made out of green beans!
