  • 1 tbsp onion powder
  • 1 tbsp garlic powder
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 2 tbsp nori flakes or furikake
  • 1 spring onion, thinly sliced
  • 75 g panko

Are you familiar with jalapeno poppers? A hip snack picked up from the USA. A deliciously spicy, crunchy snack – great to serve with drinks. As not everyone likes spicy food, we have created a sweet variation using the new Tatayoyo pepper. This is a sweet pepper with a tropical flavour.

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius.

  • Cut the Tatayoyo peppers in half lengthwise, remove the seeds but leave the vegetation.
  • Place the cheddar cheese with the cream cheese, onion powder, garlic powder and lemon juice in a bowl and mix well together. Then stir in the nori and spring onion.
  • Now fill each Tatayoyo pepper half with this mixture.
  • In a separate bowl, mix 2 tbsp olive oil through the panko and sprinkle this over the Tatayoyos.
  • Bake the Tatayoyo pepper poppers in the oven on a baking paper covered baking tray for 15 minutes until golden brown.
  • Garnish with spring onion and serve immediately!
