Fancy a pizza with celery?  but a friend devours celery as part of a pizza topping which also includes sausage, apple and cheese. I instantly wrinkle up my nose. Instead, I use a tomato base sprinkled with celery and mozzarella, finished off with basil. Scrumptious!

On the topic of weird and wacky pizzas, ever tried cinnamon, apple and chocolate? (see photo). Why not add some celery?

A recipe uncovered in Pompeii involves roasting chopped celery in the oven and serving it with honey and ground pepper. Apparently the Romans wore wreaths of celery to stop them getting hangovers! Celery is also associated with lowering blood pressure and combating cancer. And if you have celery leftover, tightly wrap it in plastic and put it in the crisper section of the fridge for tomorrow.

Enjoy your celery! Louise.
