When I was a boy, I spent a summer holiday with a Boy Scout group in the United States. That was an unforgettable experience for many reasons. I learned a lot of things and cooking was one of the most important. We usually prepared simple but good, tasty meals. In the Yosemite Park we shared evenings together around a bonfire, getting warm with a dish of hot spinach soup. Here is the recipe of this soup.

Preparation

Clean, wash and dry the spinach. Put some oil into a frying pan and add the sliced shallot and brown. Put the butter into the pan and when the butter has melted put the spinach, the salt, the pepper, the water and the milk then mix well together. Cook it for 30 minutes. At the end of the cooking process put it in a mixer and blend together. Before serving, put some oil into the dish.

This soup can be served with a piece of toasted bread and some grated nutmeg.
