Ingredients

  • 3 sweet pointed peppers, different colors*
  • 1 red onion
  • 1 fresh jalapeño (2 jalapeños if you like it spicy, seeds optional), seeded and diced
  • ½ cup cherry tomatoes
  • Juice of 1/2 lime
  • 1 pinch of ground cumin
  • 2 tbsp of extra virgin olive oil
  • Pepper and salt
  • ½ bunch of fresh cilantro, chopped

Sweet pointed peppers and salsa are a match made in heaven. Thanks to their sweet taste, thin skin and wide range of colors, they even taste deliciously when eaten raw. And that sounds like music to our salsa loving ears. Combine colorful sweet pointed peppers with red onion, jalapeño, cherry tomatoes, citrus juice and fresh cilantro. This sweet and spicy combination might just be your favorite salsa recipe yet!

This sweet and spicy pepper salsa is a natural match with both grilled meat and fish tacos. You could for example top your grilled steaks with the salsa for extra flavor. Or spoon the salsa on your grilled hotdog and make a real hotdog hottie! You could even add it to avocado toast or grilled white fish… sweet pointed pepper salsa is your gastronomic jack-of-all-trades. Easy peasy and heavenly delicious!

Preparation

  • Remove the stem, ribs and seeds of the sweet pointed peppers and dice into small pieces. Dice the onion in equally small pieces.
  • Cut the cherry tomatoes into small cubes and squeeze the lime.
  • Mix the pepper pieces, red onion, jalapeño and tomatoes with the lime juice, cumin and olive oil in a medium bowl and season well with pepper and salt.  Add the chopped fresh cilantro and mix with the salsa before serving.
