Oak-leaf lettuce bears its name because of the shape of its leaves. Its taste is slightly nutty and combines well with savoury dressings. Further it is an excellent side dish with meat and fish and suitable as a garnish.

Clean and rinse the lettuce and tear into small pieces. Put into a salad bowl. Dice bacon, onion and mushrooms. Roast bacon and onion gently in a pan, then add mushrooms and let it stew for a minute. For the dressing, mix vinegar, mustard, salt, pepper and sunflower oil. Add bacon, mushrooms, onion and dressing to the lettuce. Toss gently and serve.
