Wow lots of salads.. mmm Read more

Our family is a big fan of the good old Aussie BBQ. For me, the best part isn't the juicy steak or the burnt snags, but rather chasing the kids around the backyard with the BBQ tongs.

So when it comes to preparing the food, I like things quick and simple... so I can spend more time running amok with the kids. This is our standard BBQ salad and it takes practically no time to make.

At our house, the tomatoes must be Amoroso or the kids won’t have anything to do with it. Before Amorosos were available at our local Coles we'd put cherry tomatoes in the kids' lunch boxes. Now though, if we buy another type they invariably come home in the lunch boxes uneaten. My eldest daughter's excuse: “They're not Amorosos Dad!". She does have a point.

Wash and slice salad vegetables as desired. Place in large bowl and splash a little balsamic vinegar over the top.
