A semi-vegetarian diet is the best thing we can do for our bodies

Submitted by Patricio Thu, 11/18/2010 - 03:38

At least that is what Dawn Jackson Blatner claims in her book “The Flexitarian Diet: The Mostly Vegetarian Way to Lose Weight, Be Healthier, Prevent Disease, and Add Years to Your Life.”

Clearly, there are many health benefits of being vegetarian, but for most of us being a strict vegetarian is more than what we are willing to do. Dawn says that the answer is to become a flexible vegetarian – hence, Flexitarian.

Flexitarians are people that eat a plant-based diet, but who are flexible enough to include some red meat, poultry and fish into their diets. This type of diet is presented as a realistic and delicious way to eat more plants. This flexitarian diet is supposed to be a casual vegetarian lifestyle that is flexible enough to include all your favorite foods.

Here at Love My Salad, we want to help you give the flexitarian diet a try. During May, we will give away a copy of the Flexitarian Diet book to one of our registered members. If you have not yet registered, make sure you do before the end of the month for a chance to win this interesting book. To register, click on the Become a Member tab.
